  • [NEW]  Torchwood An organisation created by Queen Victoria after the events of "Tooth and Claw" (Doctor Who (2005) Series 2).  Torchwood-1 (London) was destroyed by the events of "Army of Ghosts"/"Doomsday" (Doctor Who (2005) Series 2).  This is Torchwood Three (Cardiff), who first appeared in "Everything Changes(Torchwood Series 1), this episode features the first appearance of the 1899 and 1999 versions of the teams.




    • [NEW]  Captain Jack Harkness - Former Time Agent from the 51st century, con-man and companion to the Tenth Doctor.  Head of Torchwood Three.  He was made immortal accidentally by the Bad Wolf entity (Rose Tyler) in "The Parting of the Ways" (Doctor Who (2005) Series 1).


    • [TW]  Jack's immortality -   In "Parting of the Ways" Doctor Who (2005) series 1 he was killed by Daleks and resurrected by Rose/Bad Wolf and left in the future. He has since been shown in Torchwood and Doctor Who (2005) to be able to return from the dead.

    • [OLD]  UNIT - An military organisation which first appeared in "Invasion" (Second Doctor story.)


    • [TW]  Retcon -  A drug that Torchwood Three uses to remove civilian's memories of events.   It was used on Gwen in "Everything Changes" (Torchwood Series 1).  It is made of Compound B67 "Retcon," which was found in the blood of victims in "They Keep Killing Suzie" (Torchwood Series 1).

    • [TW]  Weevils -  An alien race that has slipped through the rift and infest Cardiff.

    • [OLD]  The Meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs - Was actual a space freighter sent to Earth by the Cybermen ("Earthshock" (Doctor Who (1963) season 19).  This is the first reference to Jack having visited this period.

    • [NEW]  Brain alien thing - First appearance of this creature.


    • [TW]  Captain John Hart - Ex-Time Agent and former partner of Jack.  First appeared in "Kiss Kiss Bang BangTorchwood (Series 2).

    • [TW]  Gray - First mentioned (and hand first seen) in "Kiss Kiss Bang BangTorchwood (Series 2) and later appeared in flashback in "AdamTorchwood (Series 2).
