References:

[OLD] - Things that first appeared in the classic series of Doctor Who (1963) or the movie.

For context, the following are also covered:
[1ST] -  The first appearance of things in Doctor Who and related shows.
[NEW] - Things that first appeared previously in the new series of Doctor Who (2005).
[SJA] - Things that first appeared in Sarah Jane Adventures.

Ongoing References:

  • [OLD] Sarah Jane Smith - Sarah Jane Smith was companion to the Third and Fourth Doctors (From "The Time Warriors" (Doctor Who (1963) season 11) to "The Hand of Fear" (season 14).)  She returned to the Doctor's side in "The Five Doctors(Doctor Who (1963) 20th Anniversary Special) and "School Reunion" (Doctor Who (2005) series 2) and "The Stolen Earth"/"Journey's End" (Doctor Who (2005) series 4).

  • [SJA]  Alien Detecting Watch - First appearred in "The Invasion of the Bane" (The Sarah Jane Adventures series 1), although the Third Doctor had a TARDIS finding watch and the Seventh one that detected danger.  The source of Sarah Jane's scanner watch isn't given on-screen, but other material states the Doctor left it inside K9 for her.

  • [OLD] The Doctor - As noted above, Sarah Jane Smith was companion to the Third and Fourth Doctors (From "The Time Warriors" (Doctor Who (1963) season 11) to "The Hand of Fear" (Doctor Who (1963) season 14).)  She returned to the Doctor's side in "The Five Doctors(Doctor Who (1963) 20th Anniversary Special) and "School Reunion" (Doctor Who (2005) series 2) and "The Stolen Earth"/"Journey's End" (Doctor Who (2005) series 4).

  • [SJA]  Not born - Luke was activated, not born, in "Invasion of the Bane" (Sarah Jane Adventures series 1).

From this episode:

  • [OLD]  Sarah's memory of the Doctor - From "School Reunion" (Doctor Who (2005) series 2) and "Journey's End" (Doctor Who (2005) series 4).

  • [1ST]  Bio-damper - Some sort of device that cloaks (ore dampening) a person's biological signature.  The Doctor gave one to Donna Noble in "The Runaway Bride" (Doctor Who (2005) 2006 Christmas Special).

  • [OLD]  Draconia - The Third Doctor visited Draconia during the beginnings of hostilities between the Earth Empire and the Draconians in "Frontier in Space" (Doctor Who (1963) Season 10).  In "The Satan Pit" (Doctor Who (2005) Series 2) the Tenth Doctor mentions that, like Earth, their mythology included a "horned beast," inspired by the beast in that episode.  Like the Ancient Lights, the beast in that episode came from before time.

  • [1ST] Ventiplex - First mention of this race.

  • [1ST]  The Ancient Lights -  First mention of these entities.

  • [OLD]  The Big Bang -  The event that kick-started the universe.  May have been caused by the explosion of the fuel of the time jumping ship Terminus ("Terminus" (Doctor Who (1963) season 20).

  • [NEW]  But what was there before? - In "The Satan Pit" (Doctor Who (2005) Series 2) the Tenth Doctor has difficulty believing that creatures such as the Beast and the Disciples of the Light came from before time.
