[INJ] - An in-joke.

  • [INJ]  Big Brother, The Weakest Link, What Not to Wear - Parodies of the British versions, featuring the actual hosts of the shows doing the voices and puns on their names.
  • [OLD]  Transmat - Particle Matter Transmission, a term for/type of teleportation frequently used in classic Doctor Who.
  • [1ST]  Kyoto, 1336 - Time and place not previously visited onscreen (and not really here, either).
  • [1ST]  Pan Traffic Calendar, Martian Drone Default Payments, The Great Colbalt Pyramid - First appearances of these term.
  • [1ST]  The Torchwood Institute - Torchwood is an anagram of Doctor Who, but this is the first reference to it in the show.

  • [NEW]  The Face of Boe - Appeared in "The End of the World" which is how Rose knows his name.
  • [OLD]  The Isop Galaxy - The planet Vortis in the First Doctor story "The Web Planet" was in the Isop Galaxy.

The 10 Rules to Doctor Who.

10.  TARDIS:  The TARDIS mentioned as travel, but the heroes arrive by Transmat.  The TARDIS does reveal the answer to what's going on though.  [0]
9.  Meeting Yourself:  Nobody tries.  [X]
8.  Non-sequiturs:   Yes.  [1]
7.  Serious/Frivolous:  Shows aspects of both personality.  [1]
6.  Series Final:  This is not a series final, but is part 1 of the 2 part final.  It includes Daleks.  [1]
5.  Companion:  Rose, contemporary British female.  Jack, future human.  (Future, Earth orbit story).  [.5]
4.  Emotionless:  The Controller has been used as an interface since the age of 5, so should be emotionless, but her emotions caused her to bring the Doctor in.. [1]
3.  Title Spoilers:  Bad Wolf has been mentioned throughout the series and isn't a spoiler for anything here.  The Doctor also references the name of a previous episode "The Long Game."  This is a rare episode that has Daleks but doesn't name them. [0]
2.  The Threat:  The Doctor realises straight up that something's wrong.  Being kidnapped is a big give away.  It's actually the TARDIS that does most of the working out.  Of course, he has no idea who the masters are.  [0]
1.  Last of It's Kind:  No last of their kind, besides the Doctor.  The Daleks appear, previously thought to be extinct.  [.5]

Score:  5/9.
