A special short for "Children in Need," a charity run by the BBC (Donate here):  Continuing from "The Parting of the Ways" Rose deals with the Doctor's regeneration.  One of the many extras associated with the new series of Doctor Who.

• [OLD]  Regeneration - The doctor has done this before... lots (see THE DOCTOR'S Regenerations).

• [OLD]  Regenerating inside the TARDIS - The First, Fifth & Sixth regenerated into their next incarnations (obviously, the Second, Sixth & Seventh respectively) in the TARDIS itself (the First & Fifth making it back to the TARDIS before collapsing, the Sixth dying from injuries received when the TARDIS was attacked.)  The regeneration of the Second Doctor was forced on him by the Time Lords.  It appeared to be starting when Season 6 ended.  When Season 7 began, the Third Doctor is seen stumbling out of the TARDIS suffering regeneration sickness, so it is possible the Second also regenerated within the TARDIS, especially if the Season 6B theory is correct (I'll explain later).  Other regenerations occur:  In the Doctor's lab at UNIT (within sight of the TARDIS), on the grass below a radar dish and in a draw in a morgue in Chicago.

• [OLD]  Witnesses to regenerations - A number of companions have witnessed the Doctor regenerate.  Ben & Polly (The First Doctor -> Second), Sarah Jane & The Brigadier (The Third Doctor -> Fourth), Adric, Nyssa & Tegan (Fourth Doctor -> Fifth), Peri (Fifth Doctor -> Sixth) and Mel (Sixth -> Seventh).  As noted above the Second Doctor's regeneration had been initiated by the Time Lords (his companions had been sent home and their minds wiped.)  Another Time Lord was also present (and help push the process along) at the regeneration of the Third into the Fourth.

• [OLD]  Transmat - Appeared in multiple episodes of the original series. as well as the episode "Bad Wolf."

• [NEW]  Nanogenes  - First appeared in "The Empty Child" and "The Doctor Dances."

• [NEW]  Gelph  - First appeared in "The Unquiet Dead."

• [NEW]  Slitheen  - First appeared in "Aliens of London" and "World War Three" with one also appearing in "Boom Town."

• [OLD]  Instability after regeneration - Known to have occurred previously, possibly no example as extreme the Sixth Doctor attacking his then companion Peri in "The Twin Dilemma."

• [OLD]  The Cloister Bell - A warning that sounds in the TARDIS at times of emergency.
