Serial 1J - "Planet of the Giants" [1 - 3]

• The TARDIS accidentally materialises in miniature and the crew shrink with it.

Serial 1K - "The Dalek Invasion of Earth" [1 - 6]

• Second appearance of the Daleks.
• Set in the 22nd Century (2168).
• Barbara mentions the Boston Tea Party to the Daleks.
• First appearance of a Supreme Dalek.
• The Daleks use mechanically augmented humans (called "Robomen") as slaves.
• The first reference in the series to Dalekanum.
• Susan stays in the 22nd Century, after being locked out of the TARDIS by the Doctor.

• The Doctor is shocked to discover that he inspired Nero to burn Rome.

Serial 1N - "The Web Planet" [1 - 6]

• The Doctor and companions visit Vortis in the Isop Galaxy.
• The Doctor and companion meet the humanoid insects: the Menoptera and the Optera.

Serial 1P - "The Crusade" [1 - 4]

• The Doctor meets King Richard in Palestine.
• Episodes 2 & 4 missing.

Serial 1Q - "The Space Museum" [1 - 4]

• The TARDIS jumps time tracks.
• The shell of a Dalek is present in the Space Museum.  (Daleks also appear in the lead up to The Chase)
• The Doctor is subjected to a device that had killed everyone else it was used on.  All thee cold does to the Doctor is cause his rheumatism to flare-up.
• The Doctor is given the Time-Space Visualiser as a souvenir.

Serial 1R - The Chase [1 - 6]

• The third full Dalek story.
• The Doctor and companions use the Time-Space Visualiser to view moments in history, including Shakespeare and Queen Elisabeth I.
• The Doctor implies he built the TARDIS.
• The Daleks chase the Doctor through time.
• The Doctor & the Daleks appear on the top of the Empire State Building in New York City.
• The Daleks appear on the Mary Celeste, causing the crew to abandon it.
• Ian and Barbara are returned to the 60s.
