Serial 4C - The Ark in Space [1 - 4]
- First full Fourth Doctor story.
- The Doctor fights a giant robot.
- The Destructor Codes for the world's atomic arsenal is mentioned by the Brig:
"A few months ago, the superpowers, Russia, America and China, decided upon a plan to ensure peace. All three powers have hidden atomic missile sites. All three agreed to give details of those sites plus full operational instructions to another neutral country. In the event of trouble, that country could publish everyone's secrets and so cool things down. Well, naturally enough, the only country that could be trusted with such a role was Great Britain."
- After helping save the world the Brigadier wants the Fourth Doctor to, among other things, have dinner at Buckingham Palace. The Doctor declines in his usual manner - he runs away in the TARDIS.
- The Doctors claimed to be an honorary member of the Alpha Centauri Table Tennis Club.

- Thousands of humans are being kept in cryogenic chambers for 5 thousand years on a space station after solar flares wiped out all life on Earth in the 29th Century.
- The humans ended up oversleeping by several thousand years, being found by the Doctor in 16087AD.
- The Doctor is partially able to identify when the Ark was built by the version of Bennett Oscillator and tested gravity with a yo-yo,
- The Doctor meets the humanoid insects: the Wirrn.

Serial 4B - The Sontaran Experiment [1 - 2]
- Set on Earth in the year 16807.
- Sarah Jane Smith has a second encounter with a Sontaran.

- Tenth full Dalek story, origins of the Daleks.
- First appearance of Davros, creator of the Daleks.
- The third appearance of Skaro.
- The Doctor, Sarah and Harry note a mix of technologies, which suggest to the Doctor that the war has been going for a long time.
- There are giant clams - products of Davros's first experiments - kept in caves below the Kaled dome.
- The Doctor is given the chance to destroy the Daleks when they were first created and faced the question "Do I have the right?"
- Includes the lines: "If you had created a virus in your laboratory..." and "If someone who knew the future pointed out a child to you, and told you that that child would grow up totally evil, to be a ruthless dictator who would destroy millions of lives, could you then kill that child?"

Serial 4D - Revenge of the Cybermen [1 - 4]
- Continues the Fourth Doctor, Sarah Jane and Harry's adventures on Space Station Nerva Beacon: "The Ark" finding it is controlled by the Cybermen who want to destroy the planetoid Voga.
- The Cyber-Leader is notable for his black helmet.
