Serial 1A - "An Unearthly Child" [1 - 4]
- The Doctor's first appearance.
- First appearance of the Doctor's granddaughter, Susan, and her teachers at Coal Hill School, Ian and Barbara.
- First appearance of the TARDIS.
- The Doctor and Susan note that the appearance of the TARDIS didn't change as it should.
- The Doctor helps a tribe of cavemen, possibly changing history.
- The Doctor claims not to be a Doctor of Medicine.

Serial 1B - "The Daleks" [1 - 7]
- First appearance of the Daleks and their homeworld Skaro.
- The Doctor sabotaged a fluid link located at K-7 to create an excuse to explore the Dalek city.
- The Doctor leads a Thal attack to wipe out the Daleks stuck on Skaro. At the time it was assumed that were the only Daleks in the universe.

Serial 1C - "Edge of Destruction" [1 - 2]
- The First Doctor is implied to have one heart.

Serial 1D - "Marco Polo" [1 - 7]
Serial 1E - "The Keys of Marinus" [1 - 6]
- Brains with eyes in jars (unnamed in the episode but listed as the Morpho in the credits) enslaved the population of Marinus, leading them to believe the illusion that the lived the luxurious city of Morphoton when it was, in fact, filthy.

- Barbara attempts to get the Aztecs to cease human sacrifice in the hope it will stop their extinction. The Doctor tells her time can't be changed.

Serial 1G - "The Sensorites" [1-6]
- Unsurprisingly features the Sensorites.
- The Doctor displays limited telepathy and tells Ian he sometimes knows what he is thinking.

Serial 1H - "The Reign of Terror" [1 - 8] Episodes 4 & 5 missing.
- Set in the 18th Century France (obviously during the Reign of Terror, hence the name.)
